New York Times Bestseller Ghostwriter

Get me a Jewish ghost writer – maybe

I need a Jewish ghost writer. Get me a Jewish ghost writer. Do you have Jewish ghostwriters?

We have several of those being kept. In cages. Where they occasionally release the shackles to the desk. Yeah, we think WE’RE funny. You are obviously still the monkeys tapping madly away at the typewriters. So are we…often, while high on life.

Hi, I need a book ghost writer…

Though it is that way, a ghost writer is not the incorporeal remains of a writer. Who has gone to the New York Times bestseller list in the sky?  Equally, a ghostwriting service is not the secular send off for the departed. Though, of course, a ghostwriter could be hired to create appropriate words for the eulogist or other speakers at the services Ghostwriters are not the spirit remains of dead writing careers, though it may also seem to some of us just like that like that.

Ghostwriters are tools for dissemination of ideas, no more and no less. A ghostwriting service is a way to be helped to find the appropriate tool – kind of a home depot for words. People check consumer magazines to find the best computer. So why not look to a ghostwriting service to find the best ghost writer. Or look directly, if this is best for you.  An inherent characteristic of ghostwriters is flexibility. If we don’t already know how, we know how to find out how.

How can I find a book ghost writer? Where are they located?

Why investigate ghost writing at all? We cannot repeat to often that ghost writers are tools for ideas, the client’s ideas. In today’s world, we need as many ideas out there as possible.  But since writing is a skill, what does a person who doesn’t feel they can write, or does not have the time, do if they have ideas to put out there?

What if you have a story to tell, and need help in telling the story? Who you gonna call? Ghost writers . . .  likely a book ghostwriter, but possibly a screenplay ghost writer. In the ideal world, maybe the story is so compelling, and the ghost writer so good, the client (the author) either unable to tell their own story, or think they are not able, or too busy that they hire a ghost writer, the book may be made into a movie.

Find a Jewish ghost writer – if you dare!

Meanwhile, the truth about ghost writing is readily apparent:

Ghostwriting is a specialty service. Hiring z ghostwriter, directly or through a service, is like hiring a mechanic to fix your car. You might be able to fix it yourself, but the mechanic can do it better, and quicker, and give you time to do what you do better. Apart from academic arenas, no one has the right to look askance at someone who hires a ghostwriter as a tool to express their ideas.

Complaints about things such as medical journal papers being ghostwritten rings a bit hollow. Conveying information is important – no writer believes otherwise – but do you want medical non-writers spending their time trying to write, when that is not their strength, or do you want them doing what that they do best, curing people, and letting professional writers do the communicating?

Can I make money from ghost writing a book?

When using a ghost writer, the client signs the checks and buys rights to the work. Client signs off on giving money to the writer. The client buys rights to the work. The client also takes responsibility for the work and the ideas. Therefore, the client is also called the “author” of the work, while the ghostwriter is the writer.

Theodore Sorensen was once asked if John F. Kennedy actually wrote his book Profiles in Courage. Sorenson replied that Kennedy was the author. This was after Kennedy died, so it also shows a kind of ghostwriter-client confidentiality. Not to the extent of a lawyer or a clergyman, but a ghostwriter will keep the client’s secrets, including the fact of the ghostwriting being done at all.

When a ghostwriter does backup research for a client’s project, the writer will cover any connection to the client. “I need the (public) information for a research project, or a confidential research project” usually works. If not, the ghostwriter remembers that he or she is working with the client as well as for the client.  Ask the client’s specific permission to reveal why you need the information. Ghostwriters are tools for spreading ideas. And one of tool’s, to coin a phrase, your client is also your tool.

What does it cost to hire a ghost writer?

Your client is also a source of technical information and technical review of what you find and come up with. You can’t ask them to do the work they are paying you to do. You can point out that the easier they make it for you, the ghostwriter, the better the result and the better they look.

Ghostwriters are tools for dissemination of ideas. Today we need as many ideas out there as possible.  But since writing is a skill, what does a person who doesn’t feel they can write, or does not have the time, do if they have ideas to put out there? You look to a specialty service or specialty individuals. This is like hiring a mechanic to fix your car. You might be able to fix it yourself, but the mechanic can do it better, and quicker, and give you time to do what you do better.

Remember, finally, that the book, or screenplay, or whatever, remains yours. The credit is yours. The influence is yours. And, if you decide to mention the ghostwriter, the graciousness is yours.

True Ghost Writer Story

Ghost writers who write copy published under someone else’s name. But they usually know the name under which it is being released.  Not always. Some years ago, I was contracted by a service to write a “leveled reader,” with limited vocabulary for struggling readers, on a figure from Black history.  I was told I would not be told the name under which it would come out.

I did the project, learned a few things, got paid, and did not think further about the assignment.

A year or so later I was waiting for my books at the Library of Congress in DC.  I decided to look up the book in their catalog. Not yet available on the internet, to see if it had been released.  It had, so I requested the book to check the information from the catalog.  I also found out the name under which it was released – my name. And this is how I seemed to be the First Writer to ghost write for himself.
